Ditch backlogs, do pitches, trust people
Backlogs seems infinite? Erase it!
Leverage empowered workforce to keep track of what's important to them - let them track the things that are important to them. This keeps the minds fresh.
Have regular (one-two sprint worth) meetings about what should be the focus for the next session, discuss from clean slates, based on what people are interested/enthusiastic about. Pitch your ideas to make them stick and inspire people.
Having a long list of todos from ages ago can pull us back, the sheer amount of ideas that can be in those list drowns us - the need for cleaning nurturing it is very draining, while we just have to let it go and accept: "we can't have it all"
Trust people and do not get lazy about having the discussions about what the others want to do on your team. They'll have valuable insight, that might inspire you too.
